Students are considered based upon the following: Completion of all pre-requisites, a GPA of 2.5 or above, and a TEAS score of at least 50. Our procedure is an open admission process, and not a competitive one.
The department tries to accommodate and accept students into the next cohort, but this can be dependent on when a student starts their prerequisites and finishes them.
The course pre-requisites are: ALH 1101, BIO 1121, ENG 1101, HIM 1101, AND MAT 1130.
A student is actively considered as soon as they get 'linked' to the SUT major.
Below is a summary of the department's procedure:
- At the end of every Spring semester, the SUT office runs a database queue of all students who are 'linked' to SUT.
- The list is sorted by those who have all of the pre-requisites completed. Then the list is sorted by ‘linked’ date (earliest to latest).
- Those who have all of the pre-requisites completed are considered based on their 'link' date. Class size is restricted by a limited number of ‘seats’.
- Remember, in addition to the pre-requisite courses, you must also have at least a 2.5 GPA and have taken the TEAS Exam with a score of at least 50.
- The SUT office will notify those students who meet all of the above requirements, by mail, shortly after the end of Spring semester.
