Answer / Solution |
 |
Sinclair's plan to redevelop 4th and 5th Streets includes making both streets more safe and friendly to pedestrian traffic coming from parking Garage A to the main campus.
As Sinclair works to improve Building 10 as the new Integrated Student Services Center, Building 10 will also become the front door to Sinclair. Guests will have a clear walkway to the new front door of Sinclair, across 4th and 5th Streets, from the main parking Garage A.
Redevelopment will be done to 4th and 5th Streets reducing the number of traffic lanes needed for pedestrian's to cross, adjacent sidewalks and property. Acres of asphalt and concrete will be removed, and more than 200 additional trees will be planted. The project also involves lowering the speed limit in affected areas to 25 miles per hour, establishing a single crosswalk between the Fifth Street garage and Building 10, enhancing the existing elevated pedestrian walkway, and narrowing or altering roadways to improve safety, traffic flow and aesthetics.
